Hi,

which command did you use to restore your VG. If you use "restvg" with
option "-s" your filesystem will be shrinked to the lowest possible
value.

no i use this command: /usr/bin/restvg -q -f'/dev/rmt0' hdisk1 hdisk2
hdisk5 hdisk6

i saw elsewhere that it could be problem with sparse files

any idea ?

df display wrong value after restoring a savevg tape

Sounds like sparce files. We had this problem with restoring Oracle
databases using another backup/restore product. Eventually found a
config for our product that forced it to include the sparce blocks in
the restore.
Not sure how you would do this with restvg however.

Regards,

Ted.

1. df display wrong values

Hi folks,

I have taken a savevg backup of my filesystems and restored to another
system
(by creating the identical filesystems - same size and on same number of
disks).
However, when I do a "df" on the restored system the number of blocks used
for
the restored system (for each of the filesystems) are very different from
the original.

I have performed a fsck on the filesystems and everything looks ok.

I am sure that the "df" values for the restored system are wrong but
everything runs ok
without any problem.  Is there anything I can do so that I can get the
correct "df" value?

thanks
