Software to turn a shell account into a PPP/SLIP account

Post by Junze Zh » Wed, 08 Nov 1995 04:00:00

I vaguely remember reading articles about a software that would let
a shell account do PPP/SLIP connection. Any info on the whereabout of
the software would be highly appreciated.

There is also a commercial software called The Internet Adapter (TIA)
it is cheap. I am using it and I love it.

Here is the readme file:

The Internet Adapter(tm)

Welcome to The Internet Adapter (TIA) FTP shelf. Here you will
find all the binaries available for TIA on the various UNIX
platforms. If you don't see the one you need - send email to:

You need to determine which binary to use on your account or host.
For that we also provide the Free Software Foundations's script
'config.guess' in this directory.

Once you have downloaded the correct version you will want to order
a free, temporary, evaluation code or purchase a Registered License.
To get an email order form send a blank message to:

(You may also purchase TIA License codes interactively by telnetting
to marketplace.com.)

For a preview of how easy TIA is to install send email to:

OR

More information on TIA is available via email, gopher, and World Wide Web
at Marketplace.com: The Internet Information Mall (tm).
(World Wide Web address, or URL, is http://marketplace.com/)

Several of the more useful documents are also provided in the 'docs'
subdirectory at this FTP site.

For our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) doc send email to:

Thanks for your interest in TIA. We look forward to having you
as our customer. Enjoy!
