by We are attempting to move two text files from a hard drive on an
AS400 to a DAT tape on an IBM RS/6000. We have ftp working
between the two servers and they are capable of the file
transfer. A problem arises because the RS/6000 does not have
enough disk space on it to accomidate the 2.3 Gigs of text data
on the two files. To overcome this we thought of buying a 4 Gig
external SCSI tape drive and connecting it to the RS/6000 and
loading the files there and then making the tape. This however
requires a hardware purchase which we would like to avoid.
Is there any way I can ftp a file off of another server (AS400)
on to the RS/6000 tape drive directly, and not save it to the
hard disk on the RS6000 first?
