XC for NCR MP-RAS 3.01 Communication program???

Post by Sean Kubovci » Sat, 13 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I have a Motorola server that is using a communication utility called XC
to upload files from the Unix server to PC's via modems and telco
lines.  I want to migrate that function to a server running NCR MP-RAS
3.01 SVR4 Unix and utilize the existing processing.  I cannot find XC on
the MP-RAS 3.01 server.  Can this utility be used on SVR4 Unix?  If so,
can I have some assistance in getting the code/executeable?  Any input
would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

XC for NCR MP-RAS 3.01 Communication program???

Motorola used to use a commercial product called xcom for file transfer
within Motorola Corp. I suspect it might be the same product in which case
you would need to find the manufacturer and see if they have a port to NCR
UNIX.

Or is there a possibility you could use reliable protocols like X-modem and
Z-modem which are bundled with NCR UNIX. See the man page on sz for
details.

1. NCR UNIX SVR4 MP-RAS, Release 3.01??

I am an Oracle DBA running several Oracle databases on an NCR 3400
with NCR UNIX SVR4 MP-RAS, Release 3.01.  We just upgraded to 3.01
from 2.02.  I am having problems identifying UNIX processes that are
using the most cpu time, memory etc...   I would like to know if
anyone has UNIX scripts / methodologies that help you determine Oracle
or non-Oracle processes that are using resources (cpu & memory).
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sean
