Some UNIX systems provide command asroot which enables non-root users to
shutdown the system. But on Digital UNIX asroot does not exist. Does anyone
know how to achieve this?

See if you have the "sudo" command. Its functionality is similar to
asroot.

Some UNIX systems provide command asroot which enables non-root users to
shutdown the system. But on Digital UNIX asroot does not exist. Does anyone
know how to provide a user with shutdown authorisation, or perhaps setting
user ID?
