ghostscript/view question

Post by Gary_Sande » Sat, 25 Feb 1995 15:12:40

Hello,

Please excuse and ignore me if this is the wrong group to post this question to.

I keep receiving
Warning: failed to allocate 5x5x5 RGB cube.
Warning: failed to allocate 4x4x4 RGB cube.
Warning: failed to allocate 3x3x3 RGB cube.

when I use ghostview to view postscript files.  The files appear ok, but this
message always appears whenever I load a new file.

I just downloaded and compile both ghostscript and ghostview, and I am running
on a Sparc/sunos Sun 4.?  *AND* I followed all the README, make.doc,
etc... directions before compiling.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

   Hello,

From my understanding, this happens when other programs have used up the
colormap entries. I usually get these messages when runnung netscape.
Nothing wrong with ghostview, tho'.

1. Solaris2.4 and ghostscript/view compilation

The solaris FAQ says:

5.29) I have an application that compiled fine, but when I run it I get:
    fatal: libfoo.so.2: can't open file: errno=2

You need to add -R<wherethelibraryis> to the link command line.
    E.g.,:

        cc -L/usr/dt/lib -L/usr/openwin/lib \
                -R/usr/dt/lib -R/usr/openwin/lib \
                xprog.c -lXm -lXt -lX11
