        Why does ftpd want you to have ~ftp/etc/{passwd,group}
        (at least on SunOS)?

        Thanks

Quote:>    Why does ftpd want you to have ~ftp/etc/{passwd,group}

ftpd wants to find the default shell for the user.
It checks $SHELL and /etc/passwd.
