I just installed RedHat version 7.1 on my PC.  I did not install X
Windows.  When I boot up, when the login prompt appears, this message
pops up: INIT: ID "x" is respawning to fast...disableing for 5
minutes...

anybody?

thanks

Look at your /etc/inittab

one of the items will start

x:...

This item is having problems running,  you can either comment it out,
change it's run level to off, or check to make sure whatever it is
trying to run is there and executable (and isn't exiting right away).
