Linux/UNIX filesystem programming books or info...

I am currently trying to find some good solid information about
programming and supporting different filesystems for Linux/UNIX.
I went to Amazon and saw some books that looked interesting as far
as the *NIX OS as a whole goes, but nothing that seemed to deal with
working or programming filesystems per se. Can anyone direct me to
some books or info on the net. Thanks in advance.

I would like to get information about the filesystem onto which the person
who runs my program is logged. Is there a way to do this with C-language
system calls?
