I've seen a reference that tells me to look at "intro(4)" in the man
pages. However I can't find a way to get there, I can only reach
intro(1). In general, how can I access a numeric segment within a man topic?
Thanks for any help.

$ man 4 intro
will give you the intro(4) manual page.

: $ man 4 intro
Some varients of man have problems with that though that's
how it's supposed to be done. One can also do:
man intro.4

1. Man Pages missing important topics...
Greetings.
My man pages (3.0 slack, 1.2.13 kernel) are missing some rather
important topics.. Like ifconfig, e2fsck, fsck, ping, etc, etc.
Seems like most topics are there, but there are holes. Kinda like
swiss cheese..
My question: How to fill in the holes.. Is there a source for the
man pages. If so, how to procure, and install..
Let me kwow what you think.
Kindest regards,
Russ Crisp
