Very Computer

I want to kill a login of mine on the eXceed X-Windows emulator. I've
tried all I can think of and e-mailed my admin (they do nothing!). I'm
concerned that someone could log on to the PC that is running the
eXceed windows login session and mess up my account. I can't get to
the PC and I can't find a pid for the login or shell, but a look at
"who" shows I'm still logged in. Any guru's have a good idea what I
can do? Its getting me down :-(

Odds are it's a "ghost" in the utmp file.  Otherwise, find a way to get to
the machine

If you mean that on the unix box you do a who and see yourself still
logged in but when you look at the process stack you can't find anything
for you even a shell, then 99% of the time it means that the utmp file is
screwed and I would not give it a second thought. Since you do not have
root you can't fix it anyway.  You would have to either null out the file
(which I don't suggest) or edit yourself out of it (not really good
either) or if they have a good binary like wtmpfix or something like this
it would clear up the file (but you would need root).

Don't sweat it.  What was your login account in the first place ;->
