prompting when new mail arrives

prompting when new mail arrives

Post by Angus Simps » Sat, 04 Sep 1993 10:16:51

What can I include in my .login file so I will be prompted that I have new
mail when I sign on? Also - is there a way I can know that mail had arrived
when I am signed on.

Thanks

1. Play Sound When New Mail Arrives

I am currently running Redhat 7.3, and the latest build of Ximian
Desktop, with Evolution as my mail client.  I would like to change the
default sound for when new mail arrives.  I did go into the gnome control
center and used the sound option to change it there, but whenever new
mail arrives it still plays the same sound.

Is there someplace else I need to look to make the changes effective
under Evolution.
