SCO Openserver 3.0 - IP Change

SCO Openserver 3.0 - IP Change

Post by Audre » Tue, 09 Jan 2001 10:41:58

My company has changed our ISP and so our IP addresses are changing.  I have
an older SCO server that I need to reconfigure.  I have two issues, I
think...

1.  I have changed the servers IP address in the hosts file and using
ifconfig.  Somewhere I need to change the default gateway to point to a
domain server.  How do I do that?  And what other changes am I missing?
Without the gateway reference, access to the server from client workstations
is painfully slow.

2.  Although I've used ifconfig to change the IP address, how do I make the
change so that it will stick on reboot?

Any help appreciated - thanks

scoadmin
Networks
Network Configuration Manager
(cursor to the NIC and the line SCO TCP/IP)
Modify protocol configuration

edit /etc/hosts & /etc/networks ditto for your YP master (if any).
you also need to edit /etc/named.d/* on your DNS server.
