problems mounting CD in HPUX 10.20

Post by Proyecto Gema » Thu, 06 Jan 2000 04:00:00

I have a problem mounting SUSE 6.2 Linux CD in a
HPUX 10.20.

When I mount it with :

mount -o cdcase /dev/c1t2d0 /cdrom

names are in lowercase as I need but it appends a dot
at the end of archives without extension and it cuts
names longer than 8.3 (MSDOS style)

How can I mount it correctly?

Thanks.

1. hpux 10.20 boot problem

I have a b180 hp box running hpux 10.20.  It is a machine of vital
importance to my organization (SAP R/3 Router).  Of course there is no
backup either!  It has several external scsi disks attached to it on one
logical volume under rootvg.  I got one disk to replace all the external
ones.  I removed the effected disks, the file systems, nfs exports and
the logical volume using SAM.   After I shut down SAM and rebooted the
system I encountered an error.  The kernel panics and dumps the system.
It cycles back to the Boot menu.  I search the boot devices, everything
looks good.  My boot primary boot path is good
"disk(8/0/19/0.6.0.0.0.0.0;0) /stand/vmunix".  I tried to repair the
installation path, files, media, from the installation media (CD) but
when the recovery shell ran fsck the shell died.  Fsck apparently can
not fix all the errors.  I also can not get into /etc/fstab to edit it
from single user mode (ISL> hpux -is) no vi or pg editting ability from
single user mode.  Booting into ISL> hpux -lm also results in a panic
and system crash.  Some of the errors were......could not read all of
them or pause it......

system panic

kernel panic

not possible to find a process that caused the crash

failed to initailize

        entry_init
        status = -4

fstab corrupt

couldn't attach to /dev/dsk/c1t6d0        "these are the disks I removed
with SAM"
