NEED HELP! (SET PERMISSION IN AUTO FTP)

Hello,

Being a Unix novice, I was wondering if anyone out who knows how to
set a default file permission so that when a file is sent via ftp, it
will have rw-rw-rw.  When I ftp a file, it has rw-r--.  I started reading
some Unix books and came across a command called Umask.  I tried this
but didn't appear to help me.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help with this.  Please
send your response to me via e-mail.  My e-mail address is:

                                      Thank You,

Hi Lexiis

At the place where you ftp to your umask should be set to 022.
This happens in the .cshrc with: umask 022.
That means that normal files are created with 666 minus 022.

Bye, Per.
