i'm trying to forward our mail from redhat 5.2 linux to sco 3.2v4.2 unix.
in sco's msg.log i see this -
 2/26  9:09:06 delive9258:  cache add (shafer.com 37777777622 7200)
 2/26  9:11:34 submit9305:  nonexistent dom/host (ap_dmnormalize):
'scs.shafer.com'
 2/26  9:11:34 submit9305:  nonexistent dom/host (ap_dmnormalize):
'shafer.com'

 2/26  9:11:35 delive9307:  cache add (shafer.com 37777777622 7200)

i'm using mmdf because sendmail won't start due to -
Feb 26 08:38:18 scs sendmail[7934]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: getrequests: cannot
bind: A
ddress already in use
Feb 26 08:38:18 scs sendmail[7934]: cannot get connection
Feb 26 08:40:06 scs sendmail[8176]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: getrequests: cannot
bind: A
ddress already in use
Feb 26 08:40:06 scs sendmail[8176]: cannot get connection

i changed my /etc/hosts file to scs.shafer.com ip# and ping works when i
just use the name.

any ideas?

please reply by e-mail and post,
thanks,
darrin

1. MMDF won't deliver inbound mail

Lucky Leavell [UniXpress] telecommunicated:
| ABout 16:30 today, I realized I hadn't received any new email messages.
| Upon checking further, I found all my inbound messages sitting in
| /usr/spool/mmdf/lock/home/msg (and addr and q.local).
|
| Any ideas?

Switch to smail. It works. :-)
Or, if you have no uucp connections, switch to qmail.
