I thought ncftp transmits file in ASCII mode by default.  Am I wrong?
: I am using ncftp, with a machine definition, and I can't get the
: macro definition piece to work.

: What I want to accomplish is set the remote site to ASCII when I
: arrive.  (I keep forgetting, GET, and then don't want the binary
: result. <sigh>)

: The user, password part is working fine.

: I'd appreciate any suggestions.  I've fiddled unsuccessfully with
: the rules from the man pages.

I think it doesn't.  Anyway, you can put a
#set auto-binary

in your .netrc, just to be sure.

1. term version of ncftp available ?

Hi,
Can someone point me to an ftp site with term versino of ncftp source ?
I am using FreeBSD-1.1.5.1, but since  most of the term development has
been Linux-tied, Iguess some of you Linux fans won't mind telling me where
to find it. How about term versino of ftp and telnet SOURCE ?

Thanks in advance, nd email replies [please.
