I'm looking for programmers on Solaris, AIX, or Linux systems to beta
test a new set of debugging tools I'm developing. Please visit
http://www.probepak.com to download the latest toolsets and let me
know how they work for you.
My toolsets are really a collection of probes I'm in the process of
writing based on OC System's unique Aprobe SDK for writing probes that
peer inside running programs and allow you to efficiently record data
for later analysis. These toolsets are called ProbePaks.
I plan on implementing at least one new Probe for the ProbePak a week
based on user feedback. Initially, Probes are placed in the ProbePak
in beta form. After 4 weeks, the probes are released from beta and
will work in a restricted mode for Free and can be licensed.
But, right now, I am just kicking off the website and the initial
ProbePaks (the site was launched February 1).
So, if you ever have to track down problems (including bugs,
performance problems, memory problems including leaks), you might want
to check out the ProbePaks and participate as we implement new probes
over the coming year (ProbePaks for Java and Windows may be coming in
the next few months too).
