performance of FTP on a sparc-1

Post by uabp.. » Sat, 07 Oct 2000 04:00:00

I read that a guy named Jacobsen made improvements of the TCP/IP stack
that resulted in a FTP performance of up to 800kB/s via 10mb/s ethernet.
This on a Sparc-1 !

Can someone verify this ?
Also; how much cpu-load did that generate ? 10% ? 100% ?
When was it done ?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks to all those who replied to me on this.

To summarise: all responses indicated that this should work without
problem.
