Position: Sysadmin/Programmer

Archie McPhee and Company is looking for someone to manage our computer
systems for our retail, mail order, and wholesale divisions. This
position is regular full-time and located just north of Seattle. (For an
idea of who we are, see our website at www.mcphee.com).

Duties will include administration and troubleshooting Unix system;
managing a network of Mac and Windows workstations; writing and
maintaining reports and utility scripts; providing technical advice to
management regarding planning for expansion.

Unix administration experience required. Strong skills in PERL/CGI a
plus. Many reports, menus, and utility programs are written in shell
scripts, with a lot of Awk and Perl. Direct experience in Informix SQL
and IMPACT Award a big plus.

Linux Administrator
The individual in this position will:
? Administer an internal Linux network
? Administer a database
? Work with programmer to maintain internal mission critical application
? Streamline/automate server processes (Cron jobs, shell scripts etc.) for
both client and in-house use.
? Develop and document operating procedures and record management on an
ongoing basis.
? On call after hours sys admin support is required

Required Skills:
? Experience working in IS
? 3-5 years LINUX system administration and troubleshooting, performance
monitoring and optimization (Red Hat)
? Database experience
? Apache web server software experience

Candidate should be highly organized, customer-focused, self motivated and
should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have
ability to do basic system/network administration programming in bash and
Perl.  Should be very familiar with the text configuration files found in
the /etc directory and how to maintain Red Hat without using the GUI front
end.

Perl Programmer
The individual in this position will:
? Program and debug internal mission critical application

Required Skills:
? Experience programming and debugging software written in PERL
? Understanding of databases
? Understanding of WEB technologies
