Hi

I'm interested in developing a MUD server for unix, but I don't know
how. Can someone point me out to some sources or books etc.. that
explain how to write a simple telnet server?

Thanks,

Cono D'Elia

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Announcing the release of the Mordor 4.0 MUD Server
        =================================================================

Mordor is a MUD server package that includes a large database and source code.
This most recent version also includes binaries for both Linux (ELF) and Win32.

Mordor 4.0 is available at the Mordor MUD home site:

        http://mordor.nazgul.com/

as well as via ftp to sunsite.unc.edu and mirrors.

Features of the 4.0 release include:

o Full online creation as well as an offline menu based editor.
o Full support for Win32 and NT Services.
o Configuration via a single text file.
o New classes including Bards, Alchemists, Monks, and Druids.
o An extensive set of database and site management utilities.
o Many new player commands, including several new communication
          channels.
        o much, much more....

The 4.0 release has been in development for over 9 months, and is a
significant step beyond the 3.0 release.  If you are running a Mordor MUD, you

right for you.  It is easy to set up, maintain, and is very easy on system
resources.
