Kernel parameters

Is there an easy way to look at the values of the kernel parameters such
as
maximum files open or maximum number of semaphores?

You could look at the kernel configuration file, which is what is used
to create the kernel when a new kernel is built. It is usually found in
/etc/conf directory... in HP-UX, there is a file called conf.c which is
used to create the new kernel, and contains the system parameters..

However, the catch is that it is assumed that the machine has been rebooted
after the changes,, else they are not the current settings!

Thanks,
Rajesh
