Sockets references.

Post by Gautier Fabric » Sat, 17 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Hi,

I'm looking for some info about sockets. I already know the main
concepts but i always lack some details that i can't find in the
manpages.

For example: in what man page are the sockaddr* structures explained?
Or how to get the local IP addresses When doing a bind? Or is it
possible to bind a socket to all interface (I think there is a special
addresse that means ALL local adresses but can't find it ...)

thanks for any pointer to good detailled references doc.

A+

There's a Sockets FAQ that I think you should be able to find on
www.faqs.org.  But to really learn about this, get the book "Unix Network
Programming, Vol.1" by W. Richard Stevens.

1. socket reference list (auth package)

I am very interested in your auth package, could u please elaborate more
about it. What's the different between your package and BSD socekt? Is it in
public domain? If it is public domain, where can I FTP from internet? When it
will be available?
