Voice over modem

Voice over modem

Post by Eric Smi » Sat, 19 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hi

I am looking for some hints on what to use to send voice over a modem (like USR
Sportster Voice).  I am generating voice with the Festival Speech Synthesis
Application and want to be able to dialup and deliver speech (whilst lying on
the beach here in Cape Town).

Plewase mail me as well.

Thank you.

1. Voice Modem Voice Mail Suggestion

I am wanting to use my linux machine as an answering machine and fax answer.
I need a suggestion on what modem to get prefferably cheap that has good
voice support in linux...   also some suggestions on software would be good.
I eventually want to be able to check my voice mail over the web if there is
anything out there to do that... or simplify it.

Thanks,

David Cowan
