Description:
The performance engineer will be a key contributor to the Engineering
team focusing on the performance and scalability of the Vignette
products. Responsibilities include analyzing StoryServer system
performance to identify bottlenecks and optimum configurations on all
platforms, recommending optimum system configurations for customers
based on performance analysis, extending the performance regression
test suite used to identify changes in performance levels with new
development, developing performance tools that customers can run on
site to identify potential performance issues, and working closely
with developers during the development process to identify potential
performance issues early in the development cycle.
Requirements:
7 or more years of application development experience using C or C++
on UNIX or Windows/NT, experience with analysis tools including
Purify, Quantify, Pure Coverage and Pure Performix. Must have one or
more of the following:
3+ years of database administration or application development
experience (Oracle, Sybase, Informix, MS SQL Server); 1+ years of web
server development experience (Netscape NSAPI, Apache, MI); experience
with analyzing performance of networks, databases, or operating
systems; experience with scripting languages (TCL experience highly
desirable); and strong analytical skills. Must be able to design and
precisely control performance test environments. Strong interpersonal
and communication skills necessary.
