Starting Visual C++ from UNIX

Starting Visual C++ from UNIX

Post by Chri » Thu, 07 Oct 1999 04:00:00

We have one NT dll thats needs to built with our product.

Most of our system is built on the OSF1 platform.  We also deliver
libraries for the SunOS and HP-UX platforms.  These libraries are
automatically built during our build process using expect scripts.

I would like to automate the build of the NT dll as well.

Any information regarding how a unix process can automatically kick off
a Visual C++ build is appreciated.

thanx in advance for your assistance,

chris O.

A remote shell from unix to NT could do the job ; if interested you can
have a look at http://www.loa.espci.fr/winnt (RSHD), this package runs as a
remote shell for NT and some ports for unix systems are available.
Best regards

1. Question re: Best compiler...Microsoft Visual C/C++ vs. Symantec's Visual C/C++

Could anyone out there possibly help me. I am trying to find
out which is the best compiler between Microsoft Visual C/C++
and Symantec's Visual C/C++.I am sure others have done this
comparison and I'm interested in their findings. Any help in
this direction would be greatly appreciated.I don't know if this
is the best newsgroup to post a question of this nature or not.
Any suggestions of another newsgroup more likely to cater
to a question of this nature would also be appreciate. Thanks
in advance for your help.
