I am interested in developing some file management tools under X-windows
environment. I just know some file management utilities e.g. make, sccs, ar,
etc. Would any body be kind to suggest more utillies to me. On the other hand,
does any book contain this kind of informations.

Does anyone know if there are any File Management Utilities available.
Something that can be configured to acquire/distribute files to different
systems. That will generate messages indicating when files are ready or
not ready for transfer etc.Support archiving of files, purging, and disk
usage. Any help would be appreciated.
