Finding netstat info

Post by Staale Ber » Fri, 03 Dec 1993 22:14:29

HI.

How/where can I find some of the info that netstat presents?
(number of IP-packets sent/received, no. of TCP-packets, no. of
collsisions etc)
e.g. my netstat -s produces this result:

ip:
1822709 total packets received
0 bad header checksums
0 with size smaller than minimum
0 with data size < data length
3 with header length < data size
0 with data length < header length
4474 fragments received
0 fragments dropped (dup or out of space)
0 fragments dropped after timeout
0 packets forwarded
0 packets not forwardable
0 redirects sent
8726 No proto datagrams
1811040 packets consumed
1393928 total packets generated
1534 total packets reassembled ok
0 total packets fragmented ok
0 total fragmented packets created
0 packets can not be fragmented

icmp:
891 calls to icmp_error
.
.
.
.

-----

Where does it find this info?

Thanks

In the kernel ;-)

Tell us which kernel you have, these things are really OS dependent...

1. Problem: "Netstat : error in loading shared libraries : undefined symbol : __ register _ frame _ info

Hello,

I have a proble using netstat. When I issue the netstat command I get
the following readout :

Netstat : error in loading shared libraries
: undefined symbol : __ register _ frame _ info

This problem seems to be concurrent with the isntallation of net-tools
1.51-1.

I also get the same message during system boot repeated a couple of
times before it is subdued.

Thank you in advance for your help,
Cedric the Heretic
