When I try to make Gimp-1.0.4 (after a succesfull configure) I get:

Making all in dbbrowser
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I/usr/X11R6/include/gtk12
-I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include/glib12
-I../..                          -I/usr/local/include    -g -O2 -Wall -c

*** Error code 1

I searched all my system for the file, but it's not there.
What should I do?
I'm running FreeBSD 3.1-RELEASE ...

<snip>
have you installed Xfree86 ?
have you installed Xprog.tgz package from Xfree ?
Xlib.h should reside in /usr/X11/include/X11

I have offcourse installed XFree86, but I don't know about the Xprog.tgz
package.
Neither do I have a directory /usr/X11 but /usr/X11R6, inthere I can't find
the file specified.

/usr/X11 almost always is link to /usr/X11R6
this is because some people are using X11R5 for instance :)

go to any xfree86 mirror and get Xprog.tgz package for freebsd 3.x
it contains headers and libraries
without it you cant compile and link programs for x11

Do you have any idea in which subdir that package is located?
I've been looking all over ftp.xfree86.org, but I don't know where to find it :(

1. Errors making gimp 0.99

I am trying to build gimp on my SGI (Irix 6.2) and I am getting the
following error:

ld -shared -o .libs/libgdk.so.1.0.0 -soname libgdk.so -set_version
1.0.0:1.0 gdk.o gdkcolor.o gdkcursor.o gdkdraw.o gdkfont.o gdkgc.o
gdkglobals.o gdkimage.o gdkpixmap.o gdkproperty.o gdkrectangle.o
gdkselection.o gdkvisual.o gdkwindow.o gdkxid.o -lc -lXext -lX11 -lglib
ld: FATAL 9: I/O error (-lglib): No such file or directory

It obviously is looking for libglib in wrong place or libglib is in the
wrong place.  I have tried copying the libs to the current directory or
adding options in the Makefile (gtk+/gdk/Makefile) to no avail.

I seem to remember someone posting that they had overcome this problem,
but cannot find the old post.  Could someone gimme a hand (use the email
address below).

Thanks in advance,
scott
