HELP!!!! Problems!

1)  I have FreeBSD v3.0 and when I run ppp from the csh, it gives me
some stupid error saying lib(something).3.0.(something) missing.  When I
run ppp from the installation menu it works fine!

2) How do I add more vttys?

3) I have the lynx port on my MS-DOS partition, is there any way to
transfer it to my FreeBSD partition?

Thanks, Nicolas Blais

You are
missing
the DES
'Encryption'
libary.

Mount your
FreeBSD
CD#1, and
go into
the "des"
directory.
There you
will find
an
install.sh
script. Be
sure
you are
'root'
user, and
then just
do  sh
./install.sh

It will
ask you a
coulple of
'are you
sure..'
type
questions,
so be
prepared
for that.

Essentially,
this will
install
the
required
DES
Encryption
files
and will
install:

/usr/lib/libdes.a
/usr/lib/libdescrypt.a
/usr/lib/libdes.so.3.0
/usr/lib/libdescrypt.so.2.0
/usr/lib/libdes_p.a
/usr/lib/libdescrypt_p.a

...so you
can use
the 'ppp'
program.

I did this
from a
2.2.6 CD
Distribution
just this
week.
I presume
you have a
real 3.0
CD set?

1. Help Help, Help me with my Red Hat installation problem

Hello Happy Holidays,

I'm having a very hard time installing Red Hat Linux on my PC.  I have a
200Mhz Pentium with 48Megs of ram, and 5 gigs on the hard drive.   I'm
trying to use the hard drive specifically for Linux.

The problem is with my graphics card; it's an Elsa Gloria -L 16meg PCI.
Red Hat states that they support my card, but I can't seem to get it
working.  I was under the impression that when I install Linux, I would be
able to select the correct drivers from a menu with in the Lunux
installation.   I can't get past the born shell.  When I enter the command
startx,  the system goes blank and a message appears stating that the server
kill.

Also When I attempt to configure the x server I don't know what type of
clock my card has.  I know that it has I 3D Labs chip set, but that's about
it.

Thanks in advance

Kevin
