We have been using named for over a year now with no problem. Tonight we
encountered something very strange. I hope somebody can help with this
mystery...
We have three domains... domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com.
In our /etc/ns directory we have three database files for them:
db.domain1
db.domain2
db.domain3
We have often added and changed records as needed, being sure to
increment the serial number each time and doing a kill -HUP on the named
process to reload it.
Today...we made some additions to db.domain3. The changes were correctly
reflected throughout our local network and, using nslookup, I was able
to confirm that the changes were visible from outside name servers as
well.
However, when I tried making changes to db.domain2, even though the
changes were correctly reflected throughout our local network, using
nslookup none of the changes were visible from outside. The new records
I added were as though they did not exist, to the outside only.
Can anybody think of a reason why this might be so?
Thanks, in advance...
