FreeBSD-2.2.5 and printer daemon help..

Post by ishwar ratta » Sat, 22 Aug 1998 04:00:00

Hello

FreeBSD-2.2.5 on Ppro-Dell machine. The HP-deskjet (692C) printer used
to work and quit two days ago. Now I see the message: no daemon present.
An attempt to restart by hand (/usr/sbin/lpd) or by rebooting the machine
does not help. Any ideas? The entry in /etc/rc.conf and lpc session
shown below.

Thanks in advance.

1. kde-3.1b and FreeBSD-2.2.5

I was trying to install KDE-3.1b on my FreeBSD 2.2.5 System, got the kde
ports and distfiles from WCC and every thing went all right until I
bumped in with kdenetwork-3.1b!

I've all the dependencies installed on the System, theoretically
kdenetwork-3.1b only needs
giflib-3.0, jpeg-6b,kdelibs-3.1b,kdesupport-3.1b,qt-1.31 and
uulib-0.5.13. Well, I found that
it also needs gdbm-1.7.3 - The GNU database manager.

The problem - when I was trying to compile the network package this is
what I got

===>  Configuring for kdenetwork-3.1b
etc...
-sf /usr/local/include/uu.h
/usr/ports/net/kdenetwork/work/kdenetwork/krn/uudeview.h
at this point a stop sign.

If this means anything, please email me.

Thanks in advance.
