Any recommendation on a video card that works well with 1280x1024 at 24bit
color? I am also running Accelerated-X. Plattform Intel P-II with Asus
motherboard.

If you wasnt just excellent 2D, Matrox G400 is great. For still limited 3D
support TNT2/ULTRA cards are very fast in 2D and slow in 3D. 3dfx Voodoo 3
cards are just as fast in 2D as TNT2 ULTRA cards, and are fast in 3D even
though they lack texture support.

I currently have an Asus 3DP3000 (old card, but very nice) AGP card. I
can crank it to 1600x1200 at 16bit (now, if my monitor only supported
that). You probaly won't need a top-of the line card to just do X.
Unless you try finding 3D games, or some 3d widget drawers which support
3d cards, a 3d card is going to be useless.
