lfs is abandoned--forget about it (unless you're interested in
resurrecting it!)  There is a new "softupdates" support by k. makusic
(sp?) that will offer improved performance and obviate the need for
fsck on boot up, which might serve your needs...

There are few reasons for moving to an LFS now.  It would still be
a welcome addition, but not needed (or even desirable) for most
applications where it would have been advantageous before softupdates.
