I have an AWE32 succesfully running since months! FIrst of all make the
following entrys in your kernel config file (I try to adapt to your settings
mentioned above):

#
# flags 0x7 chooses secondary DMA channel
#      (bit  2..0   secondary DMA channel in flags)
#
# awe0 before opl0 is important!
#
controller      snd0
device  sb0     at isa? port 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x7
device  sbxvi0  at isa? drq 7
device  sbmidi0 at isa? port 0x300
device  awe0    at isa? port 0x620
device  opl0    at isa? port 0x388

The second changes are the PNP settings during boot:

/boot/loader.rc:

load /kernel
load -t userconfig_script /boot/kernel.conf
autoboot 5

/boot/kenel.conf:

pnp 1 0 os enable irq0 5 drq0 1 drq1 7 port0 0x220 port1 0x300 port2 0x388
pnp 1 1 os disable
pnp 1 2 os enable port0 0x620 port1 0xa20 port2 0xe20
pnp 1 3 os disable

Have fun!

Regards

Lars

everything on my awe32 works great except the wavetable engine ;)
weird. the sb, opl etc all init and work fine. but it fails to
'detect' the emu8k engine at base 0x620

i've given up on it. works fine in dos + windows + linux. <shrugs>
