sa0 on FreeBSD/Alpha 4.2

Post by EGUCHI Satosh » Sat, 25 Nov 2000 15:59:13

I have installed FreeBSD on Compaq Personal Workstation 500au (miata),
and found that the built-in 4mm tape drive (sa0) doesn't work.

dmesg says below.

Any suggestions?

1. Can't boot FreeBSD 4.2 for Alpha

I am trying to boot FreeBSD 4.2 from floppies so I can do an FTP
installation.  The machine is a 433MHz PC164 (21164A) with 128MB,
ZLX-pE2 video card, DE-500 10/100 Ethernet, Asus SC-200 SCSI.  It will
read both disks but when it comes to ask me what kind of console I'm
on (which is the very first thing it does once the kernel starts after
the second floppy is loaded) I can't type anything.  Note that I had
to type <Enter> when the second disk was loaded so they keyboard
*does* work.

Anyone know what might be going on, and how to solve it ?

Thanks.
