I hope to put together a high-end workstation soon running (mainly)
FreeBSD.
The basic specs would be dual PIII, 133Mhz FSB, and ata-100 support.

Can you recommend a good MB that works well with FBSD ?
Any comments on the MSI 694DPro or Abit VP6 in particular ?

Also, as I have good experience with ASUS boards in the past, do you
know
if ASUS has a reasonably priced MB that would fit the bill ?

One thing you haven't specified is Socket 370 or
Slot 1 motherboards. Having said that, I have both a
Abit BP6 and MSI 694D-Pro. The Abit is running 2x466
Celerons, the MSI 2x800(x100).

Both are running well. I don't believe ASUS has a
Socket 370 DP board, only Slot 1's.

Asus offers the CUV4X-D (Via 694XDP chipset), CUV4X-DLS (with Intel
82559 LAN and Symbios 53C1010 SCSI), and CUR-DLS (ServerWorks chipset,
Intel 82559 LAN, Symbios SCSI, 64 bit PCI slots, and ATI video)
motherboards with dual sockets 370.
