Making a new kernel - CVSuped, not made world yet.

Hi,

Last time I made world was about a month ago; last time I CVSuped was
last night.  Would it be advisable to make world before building a new
kernel to add a couple of features.  Note, I haven't made clean in my
kernel build tree and the old object files are still there.

Yes it is advisable to to the full story make buildworld and so on
because otherwise the machine may panic (it occurred to me when mountd
was not in phase with kernel). This means getting rid of your object files.

1. making world and kernel

What are the steps when going through make buildworld and make buildkernel?

I have a vanilla 4.7 installation.  I cvsup'ed my ports and src, then I did:

#make buildworld

It went on for a while, and then...  I did a:

#make installworld

After that, it would boot only into single user mode.  Should I have gone
through make buildkernel first, then make install kernel, then go through
the buildworld and installworld process?

Thanks.
