any chance to get an Adaptec AIC-7890 (U2W-SCSI, onboard on an Asus
P2B-LS) working anytime soon?

Can I find boot.img or driver?

This chip should be supported with the new cam scsi driver set.
I have purchased the same Motherboard on Friday.

You need the CAM drivers for FreeBSD.
Search the FreeBSD web site in the Q&A Section.
