 FreeBSD-2.2.6
 wu-ftpd-2.4.2-beta-16

Is it possible for wu-ftpd to run without an ftpaccess file?
I have to ask because ftpd certainly ignores anything that I put
into /usr/local/etc/ftpaccess.
I've just compiled/installed from /usr/ports without any change,
and ftpckconfig says the path is okay. Else I would have
believed that ftpd was looking for the config elsewhere.

Any other ideas on why ftpd refuse to read ftpaccess ?

Had the same Problem till I have setted

guestgroup <group of groupfile>

now it works fine.

dont forget to change inetd.conf

to usr/LOCAL/libexec/ftpd

i added

to usr/LOCAL/libexec/ftpd  -l -L -a -v -i -o

-a says to use the access file.

now it works really fine
