3.2-RELEASE and aha2944 doesn't work

3.2-RELEASE and aha2944 doesn't work

I have a Adaptec 2940 and an Adaptec 2944UW in the same box.
3.1-RELEASE sees both of the controllers but 3.2 sees only the 2940.
Anyone know anything about what changed?  I will compare the sources
but I am not a driver expert.

When typing "talk someone", I get the error message

  host: name iemars1.e-technik.uni-stuttgart. NOT FOUND

(the "de" at the end of the name is missing -- truncated to 32 characters?)

Any clues?
