Hello
Anyone got this to work with Alcatel's supplied Linux drivers? Or indeed
using the stuff inside FreeBSD?
My ISP uses PPPoA/E,+chaps to autho.
I could cope with ppp, tun0 etc, where does one start with USB?
Plz reply to group, and thanks

Use kernel.GENERIC as usb support is compiled in.
cd /usr/ports/net/pppoa
make install
Read carefully the text at the end of the port installation, follow
directions and you should be done.

1. HELP ! - Alcatel SpeedTouch USB modem for ADSL
I have read all the related FAQs for the above and have faithfully followed
them to the letter.
But.....
I have a problem when trying to create the nas0 atm interface. I'm using
br2684 to create the interface but it gives an error message (unable to find
device). I don't really know what parameters I should be giving the utility
and I recently rebuilt my kernel (2.4.17) with a new config from scratch;
either of which could be the problem.
Is there anyone out there who has succeeded setting up there Alcatel USB
modem (with PPPoE)?
If so:
1) How did you create your nas0 interface?
2) Should there be a /dev/nas0 file? And if so, should I create it? And
with what major/minor numbers?
Please help, if you can.
Thanks,
James
