XFree86 BSD and the 3dfx VooDoo Banshee

I have an EONTronics PCI video card with a 3dfx Banshee Chipset on it, and I
can't get an X server to run at all.  I've tried just the standard SVGA
server, and the 3DLABS one, and neither of those work.  I have looked all
over, and only been able to find Linux versions of the server.  I tried to
get that to run but also had trouble.  I just want to know if anyone has had
luck with this chipset and X.  Thanks in advance,

I have not had any luck, but admittedly I have not really tried that hard.
I would also be interested in a FBSD version of the driver for a Banshee.
Then it would probleably be easier to get X working on my computer that has
the better graphics card (better than my other computers).

Hello,

I was successful in getting the Diamond Banshee card up and running
with the Linux binary X server using Linux emulation.  The trick was
creating the virtual consoles the Linux server wanted in /dev as links
to the actual virtual consoles in the system.  The only problem was
that any attempt to switch to a different virtual console while the
X-server was running froze the cosole.

There may be a better way to get this working, but it was beyond my
expertise to figure out what .
