sendmail problem: too many hops...

I have a problem with Majordomo, I can get people subscribed to the
list, but when somebody tries to post a message I receive a message with
the subject heading:
"Returned Mail: too many hops 26 (25 max.)" Any idea what causes this?

It seems as though your local MX records are creating
a loop back to your sendmail machine. You *may* have
more than one machine on your local net with a "namedb"
file entry that allows things to circulate endlessly
until sendmail catches the looping (usually set to 25).

There should be only one "namedb/<filename>" locally
that has MX record entries for your sendmail handler
machine. The other machines shouldn't need these entries.
Accordingly, machines (on your local Net) that are not
actually handling & forwarding mail shouldn't be running
"sendmail", only the actual mail server should run the
program.

1. HOP HOP and skip with PINE

Hi all,

Can anyone help me with a mail problem?

I can get all my mail from my mail server but they don't say where they come from they say 'user unknown'.
When I look at the mail it is there in full but there is a message attached at the top
saying 'To many hops 20 used 17 is the max. i have increased the hops in the sendmail.conf
to 25 but now it says 28 is the, it appears to be always three out.

Can anyone help me or explain what is happening! Thank you
