boot0 Configuration

I am new to FreeBSD, and am trying to boot Linux, installed on a
second disk, from the FreeBSD boot0 facility (F1, F2...).  I get the
impression that bootable partitions are somehow supposed to be
automatically sensed and added, but this hasn't happened in my case.

Is there some way to explicitly tell boot0 about LILO on the
bootable Linux partition on the second hard drive?  What am I missing?

Thanks,
Paul

What you are missing is that Linux is on the second disk. You have to put
booteasy (boot0) on both disks, then hitting  F5 will present you with a
booting menu for the second disk.
Alternatively (simpler) lilo can boot FreeBSD (put other=/dev/hda??? in
lilo.conf for the BSD partition. This will start the boot blocks of said
partition, which will load kernel).
