KDE v2.2.x - how do I find the exact version I'm running?

Post by John » Sat, 22 Dec 2001 02:35:24

How can I find out which version of KDE I'm running?  I know it's in the
2.2.x tree, but don't know the last digit.

bash-2.05$ pkg_info | grep kde | sort
kde-2.2             The "meta-port" for KDE 2
kdebase-2.2_2       Base modules for the KDE integrated X11 desktop
kdegames-2.2        Games for the KDE integrated X11 desktop
kdegraphics-2.2     Utilities for the KDE integrated X11 desktop
kdelibs-2.2_3       Libraries for KDE2
kdemultimedia-2.2   Utilities for the KDE integrated X11 desktop
kdenetwork-2.2      Network modules for KDE2
kdeutils-2.2        Utilities for the KDE integrated X11 desktop

Thanks,
J

There is no last digit.  If there were it would have shown up.
You have kde-2.2, not kde-2.2.1 or kde-2.2.2.

Just open the KDE control center app.  It display the version number on the main page

1. (Q) How do I find what version of KDE I am running?

As a matter of interest, how does one tell what version of KDE one is running
(under RedHat-6.2)?
I tried "rpm -qa | fgrep -i kde" but it didn't help greatly.

Also, are there RPMs for KDE-2 under RedHat-6.2
which will work without difficulty?
(I've been put off by the stream of queries in this newsgroup.)
