Q: "OPTION GATEWAY" vs. "sysctl net.inet.ip.forewarding"

Is there a difference between OPTION GATEWAY in the config file and the
parameter net.inet.ip.forwarding of sysctl ?

Thanks in advance.

The difference is that the GATEWAY option is no longer supported in
the development code; where it is supported (in 2.1.0-release) it
requires a kernel re-compile and reboot every time you want to change
it.

Hence you should always use the sysctl command.

Yes, `options GATEWAY' is obsolete and dead.
