This is a pretty inane question, but what are the advantages and
disadvantages of using the ftpd that comes with FreeBSD and using WUFTPD?

wuftpd is much more feature-rich than the default one. So if you're
going to setup a large anon ftp server, you will want to use wuftpd.

For a simple one (non-anonymous server, or anon server with only low
traffic and limited use), the default ftpd might suffice however.
