1. FreeBSD 2.1.5 + Gateway 2000 + xfree86 3.1.2 OR 3.2 crash host.

  Howdy,

  I've got a strange problem with Xfree86 crashing a Gateway 2000.
 The Gateway is brand new with a new Mach64 card installed. Manufact-
 ure date of the card is 2 weeks before the release of Xfree86 3.2.
 Starting any of the X servers ( mono,vga,mach64 ) will blank the
 screen and seconds later the host CMOS will pop up as if going thru
 POST( power on self test ).

  I replace the Mach64 with a Jaton video card I use at home with 2.1.5
 and xfree86 version 3.1.2. Behaviour is slighltly different in that the
 host will give me a few seconds of scrambled video before giving me the
 POST messages.

  Both video cards are PCI. I'm guessing this may have something to do
 with the disabling of Plug in Play in the CMOS but this may be way off.
 Any help/ideas/advice would be appreciated!
