wu-ftpd and ftpaccess file

Post by Wease » Sat, 07 Jun 1997 04:00:00

Under BSDi 2.0, I never had a problem using the ftpaccess file to
restrict where people could ftp from.

However, using that same file (I don't think the formats changed any?)
on my FreeBSD box, it doesn't work.

I've run the ftpwho or whatever program that show the different
classes and my classes do show up there, so its got to be reading the
file...

Any idea why its not following the rules?

1. Wu-ftpd wont read the ftpaccess file!Help please

Hi everybody,
I've compiled the latest "wu-ftpd.2.4.2-Beta-16" daemon, and I can only
run in default mode, because if I put the "-a" or "-l" flag I get a
"server shutdown " error. I'm running Linux RH5 and I call in.ftpd  from

/etc/inetd.conf as:
ftp     stream  tcp     nowait  root    /usr/sbin/tcpd    in.ftpd  -a -l

I've red many HOWTOS, O'reilly's books, defined SHADOW_PASSWORD, copied
the support/ftp.h into
/usr/include/arpa... Anyway I desesperately need this demon working,
somebody have any hints?
Thanks for your time
daniel
